What is the difference between a straddle stacker and a fork over stacker?

Straddle stackers have wide legs which straddle either side of the pallet or load. Straddle stackers can lift pallets with bottom boards.

Fork over stackers have legs inside with forks that sit over the legs when lowered – they are not suitable for use with Aussie pallet lifting. These are only able to lift skids.

It is best to have the tines 100% through the pallet if possible.

What is load centre?

Load centres are important for load stability and relate to the maximum loads at different points on the fork tines. Check load charts – example load chart following.

The load centre of a pallet is where the centre of gravity is.

A load evenly distributed on an Aussie pallet has a load centre of 582.5mm.

Generally load capacities are given as 600mm, but it is very important to ready the equipment load chart.
